PSO, in its original form, was a rather shotty label front site. Somehow though, fans and friends kept stopping by, the Yahoo index remained strong, and somehow I never ditched the idea.
Project Station, PSO, and the Lift Label are currently based in San Francisco, California. PSO has been created and maintained by Simbarashe, with the sparkling assistance of Hiroko Hishida and Jess Parker. Here's a brief background on these two.. When I began recording A Life in the Heights in 2003, I was approached by Hiroko (or Ai, as she's sometimes called) who wanted to know how she could assist, since the site had been undergoing long overdue changes. Being one of the first people ever to own one of my demo records (she copped it from me at a Radiohead concert in Oasaka, Japan back in 1998), she became the moderator of the hQ page, home to all the business news that appears on PSO. She also boasts having the title of #1 fan!
I met Jess Parker through a musical friend and collaborator I had been working with in Sacramento by the name of Aaron Clark. Jess is an avid videographer and flash fiddler. Jess is creditied for flash that appeared on the last incarnation of the website. Stay tuned for better things to come.
